Enjoyed this far more than some of the more public spots. The hike from the parking lot is a combination of soft forest floor, tree roots and rock, with only slight elevation changes. There are several great outlooks on the way to the tower,.so you won't feel cheated even if you don't go the whole way. This might be the easiest way to get to an overlook of any we've visited in the peninsula!
A Beautiful place to visit, our Country is so beautiful with our vast lakes, forests and natural sites I highly recommend.
The best part of our trip to the Bruce Peninsula! It was absolutely breathtaking! We found a portion of the trail that's off the beaten trail some and gets a little tricky at times but the view is worth it. The rocky beach looks like it goes on forever, surrounded by rock cliffs and crystal clear water. Almost feels like you're in the tropics. We wish we had brought a picnic with us so we could stop and take in the views before trekking back to the parking lot.
I'd recommend bringing water and wearing hiking shoes/boots :)
Wow what a great hike it was, it was rather medium-hard level, especially with kids (8 and 10 y.o.), but it was so much fun. We took so many pictures, and at the bottom of the trail - there is an opportunity to swim in a crystal clear waters of Georgian Bay. That was for sure a very cool morning, good time investment. The water was rather cool and refreshing, maybe 19-20 Celsius, but we were there on August 25th 2021, end of summer, maybe it is normal. We were there in the evening hours, between 4 and 6 pm. Watch out when you decide to swim: the rocks are slippery, I would recommend to wear special swimming shoes for rocky entrances into the water. Parking was not busy at that time of the day, we had to pay for parking of course, but it was worth it.
Loved an easy trail and were stunned by the beach, it has small waterfalls right on it, fossils, white boulders and rock plates. Water was pleasant to swim and the colour left us speechless.
A hidden but must visit gem. Off the highway, be prepared to drive through the dirt road for about 15-20 mins before coming to the small parking lot.
Once there, it is about a 20-30 minute walk to the monument and "beach" but well worth it. The hike is a little challenging, especially towards the end, but will worth it. You are rewarded with this stony beach covered with absolutely perfect skipping rocks. I was able to teach my wife in just a few minutes.
The water is clear, extremely clean, and refreshing! Bring water shoes, as the bottom is rocky!
Great medium difficulty trails. Clean water at the rock beach. Parking is $5 is hour. Someone of the guys were drinking the spring water all day and were fine.
Don't mind the dirty road in.
Great hike, you get close to the cliff's edge a couple of time during, which can be a bit unnerving, but in a good way! The actual monument really is something to see, lots of interesting stuff around it too, like audible water flow in a rock wall nearby and a rocky beach 1-2 minute away if you need to cool off.
